“When I was told by the producers of the show they wanted me to play guitar in an episode I told them I couldn’t. When they told me the song they wanted me to play was Layla I told them they were insane. When they told me I had only a few weeks to learn I almost punched them. The truth is they had misunderstood me I felt. When I said I couldn’t play I wasn’t being modest I was being honest. I had never even held a guitar before. They introduced me to Greg and told me he was my tutor. On the spot I predicted two things would happen. He wouldn’t be able to teach it to me and I’d hate it. Two things happened. He was able to teach it to me and I loved it. I cannot imagine a better teacher; funny, calm, forgiving and most importantly talented. No matter what level you believe you are at you will find not only the perfect teacher but a new friend. We had a wonderful time and I couldn’t have done it without him.”
Jamie Davis (plays Max on Casualty)
“ Greg is a very encouraging teacher, allowing you to learn at your own pace whilst encouraging you to push yourself to new things. I have always felt self-conscious previously when learning guitar but Greg makes it fun and encourages you to learn things you want to learn .”
Carys Hepworth
“Greg has taught both my sons to play the guitar. Neither wanted to do grades and were very relieved when Greg tailored their lessons to suit them. The emphasis has been ‘learning through enjoyment’. Certainly both boys looked forward to their lessons and I know they consider Greg a very close friend. From a parental perspective, Greg has been a wonderful mentor and role model to two teenage boys – a real added bonus! One son is now pursuing a career in music – largely down to Greg’s influence. Greg’s knowledge, experience and encouragement seems endless. We are all incredibly grateful for his generosity with his time, the use of his recording studio and his production skills. We regularly do, and will continue to recommend Greg to all budding or accomplished guitar players .”
Karen Morgan
“My introduction to Greg started through a recommendation when investigating a guitar teacher for my son. Greg provides a combination of great knowledge, skill and patience; which are the ingredients of a superb guitar teacher. He knows the balance between teaching the skills and techniques and helping you to learn the songs that you want to play – ensuring that you are both improving your technique while at the same time building up your own catalogue of songs. A combination that provides the motivation and confidence to keep practicing and improving. Having watched my son’s playing developed hugely in a short amount of time, I started taking guitar lessons myself with Greg and can recommend his teaching for both children and adults.”
Keith Bollington
“My son has been having guitar lessons with Greg for almost 10 yrs which speaks for itself. We have always found him to be extremely professional, very friendly and the lessons are always client-led taking place in a relaxing atmosphere with the emphasis being very much on playing for enjoyment without the added pressure of grades, although that is also an option. Greg has become a close family friend and my son an accomplished guitar player through the invaluable hours of patience, fun and dedication they have both shown. Long may it continue!”
Diane Evans
“When I first started lessons with Greg I had very little knowledge about music. Now, two years later, I have massively improved both my skill and understanding of the guitar. I would recommend Greg to anyone no matter what age or skill level. He caters the lessons to you and the style you like to play without compromising your progress. He’s a real genuine guy and I look forward to every lesson with him. He has an incredible amount of patience but, above all, he is incredibly talented. For Anyone interested in starting guitar Greg’s your man.”
Ed Gidman
“Greg has been a true inspiration to my son, Isaac. In only 4 years Isaac has progressed from a total beginner to an accomplished guitarist (at GCSE level).”
Tony Jones
“Greg has been teaching me for ten years now and I have to say I never get bored or stop marvelling at how he can listen to something then play it!”
John Ash
“I started with guitar lessons seven years ago thinking I’d go for about a year! I’ve enjoyed them so much I keep going. Greg is patient to a fault and always does his best to explain and show just how to do each piece or technique. So glad I started.”

“Greg is a fantastic teacher, person and, over the past two years I’ve been having lessons, friend. With a warm and friendly environment it is an enjoyable place to come to learn, from already knowing how to play and just wanting to improve or as a complete beginner; like I was. Greg gives you the freedom to learn at your own pace and in a direction that suits you and helps you a great deal; in the direction toward playing the music you like and love to play. He has a great set of exercises that help to improve all sorts of skills as well as being more than happy to allow you to bring him a song/songs/albums of music that you want to play. With a fantastic ear he can pick apart the trickier pieces you probably won’t find/have someone teach you how to play just simply over the internet. Greg will go that extra step to help you learn to be the best you can be. He is clearly a passionate and talented musician and a fantastic teacher. I always used to give up when I was younger learning music but not with Greg and I think that is a tribute to his teaching method and to him in general. Thanks Greg. Will be sticking with him for a long while to come.”
Charlie Evans
“I’ve been having lessons for nearly 5 years with Greg. I have progressed dramatically with my playing as well as my knowledge of theory. Not only is he a great teacher but a good friend and someone who I get along with. He is very patient and I am able to relax in his presence. He is someone I would recommend to any beginners, intermediates or advanced players because he covers all the different styles of music and encourages you to use them in your writing and playing. I aim to pursue a career in music and will be applying to some of the top universities in 2018 because Greg has enabled me to see my real passion for guitar and songwriting. He allows me to use his incredible home studio and has taught me so much about how it works, but not only does he allow me to use it, he invites me in his own spare time to show me his creative process and passes his knowledge on to me. He always offers advice on guitars that would suit my playing as well as other gear such as amplifiers and multi-effects boards/pedals. He always has my interests at heart and is willing to help me prepare for performances/gigs and always makes an effort to come see as many as possible. I would fully recommend Greg for bass, guitar and ukulele lessons.”
Mike Hallet
“Greg has been teaching me for a good number of years now. In the time we have had I have been able to accomplish playing the bass guitar to a higher standard, how to write music [including recording], to play guitar and a little ukulele playing on top!.Greg has become a dear friend and I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone even for a taster lesson, as I truly believe that I would never have accomplished the high standard without him.”

“I have been struggling for years with YouTube tutorials and various things that never got me very far but since going to lessons I’ve improved a lot and Greg explains stuff you just don’t get from other ways of learning. I’m really enjoying it too!”

“Been going to Greg for the past 4-5 years now and frankly I’ve never looked back! Not only a great teacher but a great guy too who’s always ready to help you try new things and just generally be the best you can be. I can confidently say my bass lesson is one of the things I always look forward to on Saturdays!”
Cian Williams
“I began guitar lessons with Greg a few years ago and can honestly say he has taught me nearly all that I know. When I started I didn’t even know the names of the strings. I now aspire to pursue a career in music and am currently applying to some of the top music university institutions in the UK and abroad. Greg has taught me the techniques of a vast range of styles and genres of music, as well as providing me with a great deal of theoretical knowledge. His lessons are conducted through very fun, structured and engaging exercises and I am never short of things to take home and practice. As well as guitar lessons, Greg has also taught me a lot about songwriting and producing. He has very kindly given me and others access to his fantastic home studio to record our music and has not only given a lot of constructive feedback to improve my songs he has also taught me a lot about recording and production. The knowledge gained from this now means that I can function with my own recording software at home, allowing me to work on my demos. The lessons are conducted in a very friendly and relaxed environment, whilst remaining very constructive. I class Greg as a mate instead of a teacher and feel that I learn from him better this way. I have also acquired a huge amount of general music knowledge from him over time, including tips on playing gigs and advice on which guitars to buy etc. I would fully recommend his services to anyone looking for guitar, bass and ukulele lessons, regardless of how advanced you are as a player.”

“My daughter has been having lessons at Greg’s for a couple of years and it’s fantastic to see how much she’s able to play in that short time. Greg is patient and amusing and a very good teacher. If I had time I’d start myself! Great price too.”

“Greg has been teaching me guitar for 5 years now and has helped me to hone my guitar playing skills and vastly improve my musical knowledge as well as providing me with a step up into the world of recording and music production. Thanks to Greg’s friendly and inspiring lessons, I am now well on my way to beginning a career in the music industry.”
Tom Williams
“Greg is a fantastic, understanding and patient teacher. He taught me all the basics and supported my musical goals instead of dictating the path to take. Thoroughly recommend his tuition. Ten years down the line I have achieved far more than I thought I could in the music industry. Thanks Greg”

“Greg is an excellent guitar teacher. Just over a year ago I started having lessons as a beginner and I am very happy with the progress I have made thanks to Greg. He is very patient, understanding and clearly conveys his wealth of knowledge in each lesson. In addition he has a great sense of humour which means my lessons are always a good laugh! I would highly recommend Greg to anyone at any level looking for tuition.”
Laura Westacott
“Greg is a fantastic teacher. I am a Bass player but admittedly had not been playing for some time. I’d decided to pick up electric and booked lessons with Greg. In only 11 lessons I have learnt much more than I ever thought I would and with Greg’s teaching I am now able to play an array of chords/inversions/scales/rhythms and play along to a few songs of my taste [rock]. Lessons are in a relaxed environment and are set at a comfortable pace based on ability. Greg explains chords/techniques/theory in a way that is easily remembered. I found the practice exercises Greg sets to be extremely useful for getting lesson content to sink in and for getting used to new movements. Greg teaches a wide range of styles and even as a beginner he broke down a Black Sabbath song for me, over a lesson, to a point where 90% of it could be played. I would 100% recommend Greg to anyone looking to pick up or improve their guitar playing.”
Joel
“I honestly wish I’d met Greg when I first started learning guitar. I wasted so much time using other methods. Thank you Greg.”
